Overview
Unify has two distinct places where a "user" gets created, and it's important to use the right one depending on who needs access:
| User type | Where they log in | Where you create them |
|---|---|---|
| Platform user (internal staff, distributor/customer success team members) | The main Unify web platform | Users section, bottom-left navigation (next to Settings) |
| Anova Connect user (your customer's end users) | The Anova Connect mobile app (iOS/Android) | Anova Connect > Users section |
Both follow a similar underlying workflow — enter the person's info, define what they can see, and send them an activation email — but they control access to two different products, so it's worth confirming which one you need before you start.
Creating a Platform User (Internal/Staff Access)
Platform users are managed from the Users section in the bottom-left navigation of the main Unify platform (separate from Settings). From here, admins can create users with tailored access levels tied to the company's organizational hierarchy (Distributor > Region > Sub-Region > Customer > Site), so a new user only sees the branch of the tree relevant to their role.
Step 1 - Access Users and click Create User:
Step 2 - Insert the User Details
Step 3 - Provide User Access to relevant Subdivisions or Sites
Note: users with access to a specific Subdivision will be able to see all tanks on it.
Step 4 - Select User Permissions
Note: make sure to send the activation link to the user. The password is set by the user via the Welcome Email.

Support and Distributor Manager can do almost everything (create/edit/delete users, manage contact groups). Dispatcher is view-mostly — can see and search users but can't create, edit, or delete them, and is blocked from deleting contact groups.

Telemetry Manager, Field Ops Manager, Installer, and Driver have the fullest access (view, work, and edit). Sales Agent can view and work orders but not edit site/device setup. Maintenance is narrow — install/replace hardware only, no general viewing. View-Only can see everything but touch nothing.
