IMPORTANT: THE ASSET MUST BE CREATED IN TRANSCEND WEB PORTAL.
COMPONENTS:
DPW900
CBLA-E860-10 Cable (30ft)
Radar Level Sensor UTR30
INSTALLATION:
STEP 1 - The UTR30 Level Sensor accuracy depends on the location at the top of the tank's surface where it is installed. To ensure the optimal accuracy of the tank's level readings, it needs to be installed parallel to the liquid on a completely FLAT and LEVELED surface. As such, for optimal performance, the UTR30 should be installed/mounted away from the edges of the tank on an open fitting or bonded over the tank's top surface.
(ATTENTION: Do NOT mount any objects which may cause interference, such as tank internal fittings, grids agitators, below or in direct vicinity of the radar.)
IMPORTANT NOTE 1: If the UTR30 is installed incorrectly, for example:
NOT PARALLEL TO THE FLUID/LIQUID - the Radar signal will reflect in a direction away from the radar receiving antenna causing low quality performance.
CLOSE TO THE EDGES OF THE TANK - the UTR30 will struggle to measure the correct level reading due to the radar reflections emitted by the tank's metal frame casing. The metal's radar reflections detected by the UTR30 will not be distinguished from the liquid's surface radar reflections resulting in an inaccurate measurement.
SURFACE IS GREASY/DIRTY AND WET - the adhesive could fail to securely adhere to the surface of the tank and cause movement of the UTR30 from the original attached position with time (resulting in inaccurate readings worsening over time) until it may become completely unattached from the tank (risk of unit falling and becoming physically damaged or lost).
STEP 2 - The UTR30 has 7 pins inside. The CBLA-3860-10 Cable can only be connected to the UTR30 connector in one specific position. Connect the cable to the UTR30 connector. After the cable is fully plugged, screw in the thread until the end.
Fasten tightly to ensure waterproof seal.
(ATTENTION: Failure to fasten tightly the connection could cause moisture to ingress inside the connection.)
STEP 3 - ADHESIVE MOUNTING (OPTIONAL)
After the surface's location is determined, clean that area thoroughly to ensure it is free from any grease/dirt and is completely dry. Please allow the surface to air dry for the minimum of 1 minute before adhering the unit.
After, use a clean lint free rag to make sure the area selected is completely dry.
To secure the UTR30 to the tank's top surface, peel the adhesive located under the UTR30 and place it on the selected surface.
Fix the UTR30 in place by pressing down firmly so the adhesive properly attaches to the tank's surface.
STEP 3 - PIPE THREAD MOUNTING (OPTIONAL)
Mount the 2'' NPT adapter to the taper/pipe thread. Make sure the NPT adapter is completely secured on the taper/pipe thread.
Mount the UTR30 on the 2'' Bayonet NPT adapter already secured in the taper/pipe thread.
Place a gasket on the UTR30 to secure the fitting between both parts. Attach the UTR30 on the 2'' Bayonet NPT adapter by fitting the UTR30 four prongs into the 4 openings seen inside the 2'' Bayonet NPT adapter.
STEP 4
The DPW900 electronics will have an additional board CSI-LD491. Connect the UTR30 cable per below instructions to this board.
The UTR30 cable has 6 wires: green, yellow, pink, grey, brown, white.
Connect the 6 wires to the 6-Pin Green Connector RS422 of CSI-LD491 per the following wiring diagram.
After, connect the DT1 cable from the additional board CSI-LD491 to the PORT DT1 on the DPW900.
(OPTIONAL: The UTR30 cable can be cut to be shortened if needed.)
WIRING DIAGRAM:
STEP 5 - CLOSING LID CORRECTLY TO PREVENT MOISTURE INGRESS
Close the RTU lid carefully. To prevent moisture ingress, ensure that the internal cabling is routed around the battery so that it does not impede the lid from closing fully without the need for excessive pressure.
Make sure the lid is fully seated and centrally aligned on the seal. Lightly tighten each pair of diagonally opposite screws "hand tight". When all 4 lid screws are lightly tightened, proceed to tighten the lid screws, again in diagonally opposite pairs.
(ATTENTION: ONLY tighten the lid screws "hand tight".)
IMPORTANT NOTE 2: Over tightening of the lid screws can cause the lid to be distorted, opening up the seal in the middle of the two long sides. Obviously under tightening will not cause the lid seal to be compressed enough to be effective.
STEP 6
The DPW device can be supplied with an integral Stainless-Steel back plate that is attached to the unit enclosure, for solar powered units it supports the solar panel. This plate has pre-punched holes for direct attachment to a mounting stand, a building, tank, or other equipment structure. The unit should be securely mounted using these holes and suitable user supplied Stainless-Steel hardware.
As an option, the unit may have been supplied with a magnetic mount system. The unit should be placed upon a clean ferrous metallic surface and checked for a secure mounting that will not move or slide. If the magnetic mounted unit is solar powered, there will be a separate solar panel with magnetic mount. This should be placed where ample sunlight will fall on the panel surface, also check for a secure installation.
IMPORTANT NOTE 3: In all circumstances, NO holes or penetrations should be drilled into the DPW enclosure housing. This would defeat the integrity of the enclosure, destroy its ingress rating, and void the warranty.
STEP 7
Activate the DPW by sending a Manual Test Transmission:
1 - Activate the DPW by holding both FILL and MODE buttons at the same time until display shows "DIAGNOSTICS". Release both buttons.
2 - Press MODE button until display changes to "TEST SLOT". Release button.
3 - Press FILL button until display changes to "IDLE". Release button.
4 - The Test Transmission attempt will be complete when display shows at the end "FINISH GOOD NO ERRORS".
IMPORTANT NOTE 4: If display shows an Error Code Number at the end of the Test Transmission (for example: "ERROR 232" or "E232") please contact Customer Support.
